Perspiring Charlene Brooks was born in Barmouth, Gwynedd, Wales in 1981. At the age of 16, sweaty teenage Charlie Brooks moved to London to study acting, and of course, to become a star.

She was studying for her A Levels when she was given her big break as spoilt and bitchy teenager Janine Butcher. Before this, Miss Sweaty Brooks had appeared briefly in Jonathan Creek, The Demon Headmaster, London’s Burning, and the testing and training ground of many a British actor, The Bill.

Charlie Brooks is mostly remembered for playing Janine Evans (nee Butcher). Janine, the character, was abandoned by her father as a teenager and left alone, thus attempting to fill some kind of void, she wants and takes everything from the world, while being not afraid of playing any kind of dirty while doing it.

In May 2004, Brooks left EastEnders; after her character Janine was wrongfully arrested for the murder of Laura Beale (Hannah Waterman). Her character’s trial took place 18 months later, but Brooks did not return to the show for it. At the 2005 British Soap Awards, sweaty Charlie won the award for Best Exit.

We’d love to play a ruthless whore, who wouldn’t? It seemed to have gotten old for sweating Charlie Brooks however as she has moved on to work-out tapes and other roles. In December 2005, no stranger to sweating, Brooks brought to market the work-out DVD Charlie Brooks – Before and After Workout, which very quickly became the largest-selling fitness video in Great Britian. All said, we kind of prefer her character Janine Butcher in comparison to Charlie Brooks herself (maybe because we’re all scheming sluts here at Celebrity Sweating or maybe we just live for the drama…).
